Accessibility statement

Fed.tech builds systems for federal agencies, which means Section 508 conformance is a legal requirement for what we deliver and a standard we hold this site to as well.

Conformance status

This website is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard incorporated by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. We review it against that standard and welcome reports of anything we have missed.

How the site handles the patterns that most often cause problems:

  • The animated sphere on the home page is decorative and carries a text alternative describing what it represents. It respects the prefers-reduced-motion setting.
  • Interface renders on the platform pages carry descriptive titles and long text descriptions in their markup, so the content is available without seeing the image.
  • The partner marquee animates horizontally. It pauses on hover and stops entirely under prefers-reduced-motion.
  • All interactive elements are reachable by keyboard and show a visible focus indicator.

What we commit to in delivered systems

For software Fed.tech builds under contract:

  • Accessibility is tested with assistive technology during each sprint, not audited at the end.
  • An Accessibility Conformance Report is delivered with each release.
  • Research includes participants who use assistive technology.
  • Section 508 conformance is written into acceptance criteria.

Reporting a barrier

If you encounter a barrier on this site or in a system we built, email [email protected]. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using if applicable. We acknowledge within two business days.

Formal complaints

Federal employees and members of the public may file a Section 508 complaint with the agency operating the system in question. This statement does not limit any right available under Section 508 or the Americans with Disabilities Act.
